Greetings Everyone,
Our senior Board member contingent made a very successful pre-conference journey to Victoria this past weekend and everything is on track for a great 75th conference April 27-29, 2022.

The folks at the Empress were very accommodating and as excited for our conference to return as we are. There have been, as can be expected, some staffing changes with some long-time staff member retirements and such. The current staff met our group at the door upon arrival and made every effort to accommodate our plans. We also have a substantial block of rooms at the Empress with very favorable conference rates.

Here are some quick updates as of today:

In Victoria, facilities and public gathering places are back to 100% capacity. Proof of vaccine cards is still a requirement.

The old Bengal Lounge is ours for social gatherings Thursday, all day through the evening, and Friday morning.

We have an excellent lineup of speakers, most of whom will be in person. However, as per our tradition of relevance and constantly adjusting to current situations and times, there will be some virtual and video interaction pending travel restriction changes between now and conference time.

Proof of vaccination cards and of a negative COVID test is currently a requirement to get into Canada. There is the possibility of changes so stay tuned to the Coho Ferry website for updates. We will also try to keep our website updated with travel information as well. We plan to have folks at the Coho Ferry Terminal on both travel days, Wednesday and Thursday, to personally assist OLC travelers with required information prior to the boarding process.

Di Mettler and Board members are available to answer any questions you have so feel free to reach out to any one of us and we will do all we can to help.

Registrations and Sponsorships are coming in and we cannot thank our sponsors enough for your support and dedication to this conference. The Olympic Logging Conference is all about the most valuable asset any company, industry or country ever has and that is its people. Unless travel restrictions change, we know that not all of us will be allowed to make the trip; but it is my sincerest wish that all who are allowed to will meet in Victoria and have a fantastic conference.
